Introduction

Kenya Institute for Capacity Development and Research Limited (KICDR) was incepted in January 2005 with a vision to assist alleviate poverty in rural areas through participatory empowerment and capacity building. This, KICDR realized, could be best achieved through mobilization and involvement of the local populace participate in the fomulation of sustainable development programs. Most of the initiatives started by Governments, Donors or NGO’s have failed to achieve the intended objectives basically due to failure to involve the people participation at the project inception.

The organization’s strength is derived from the professionalism and expertise of its founding members who have been involved in collaborative community ventures alongside local and international organizations.

Kenya Institute for Capacity Development and Research limited (KICDR) welcomes all development partners (Donors, Governments, NGO’s, Corporate organizations and Individuals) to our website. The website will give a snap-short of an organization involved in improving people lives through participatory capacity building. Most projects are formulated in the boards-rooms using very highly advance technological sophistications. However, for implementation the key to success is not technology, but the buy-in of the people affected by the project. Therefore, KICDR will act as catalyst supporting the project sponsors by involving the local communities build appropriate capacities in formulation and implementing sustainable development projects thus our slogan “Improving People Lives”
